Technimark Is Growing Globally and Locally

Technimark has become a truly global company, but not at the expense of its North Carolina roots.
While expanding its global presence with facilities in Mexico, Germany and China, the company remains committed to its North Carolina hometown. Technimark recently added its second distribution center in Asheboro, a 100,000-square-foot facility on Bank Street.
Technimark employs between 400 to 500 people in Randolph County, where it maintains its headquarters, four manufacturing plants and three distribution centers, says Fred Richey, vice president of operations. The company manufactures plastic injection moldings, supply-chain solutions and value-added inventory management practices to a customer base that includes powerhouse companies such as Wal-Mart, Procter & Gamble and Black & Decker.
The business model is working, as Technimark has doubled in size in the last five years to more than $200 million in sales.
According to Richey, the primary factor behind the phenomenal growth is adherence to the company philosophy developed by president Don Wellington: Deliver customers products and services that readily “surpass their needs and expectations.”
